The external view of the building from across the harbour of Mali Lošinj
The area in front of the building will provide a small picnic area for visitors to enjoy. From the steps up to the Centre the pathway can be opened to make an external access to the current cistern where the turtle rescue facility will be constructed.
Along the front of the building is space under the balcony, this area will be cleared and closed off to allow the extension of the internal exhibition into the garden using the two French windows from the main room. On this terrace will be an external weatherproof model of a Fin whale, information panels and field scopes to view the harbour and beyond.
The current ground floor is divided into four main rooms: two medium sized and one large room with French windows, and at the rear of the building, a kitchen. The two medium sized rooms would be merged into a single projection room; the larger room would be the main permanent exhibition. The main room would link to the terrace through the French windows allowing extension of the exhibition into the garden. The kitchen and all smaller rooms at the rear of the building would be merged to make a room for temporary exhibitions for the summer season, and a state of the art lecturing facility outside the season.

The first floor it is currently divided into five main rooms, they would provide office space, a conference room and library for the growing full-time and part-time personnel of Blue World, students and interns, and people interested in studying marine research and conservation. Through the corridor the two main rooms will be divided using sliding doors to provide large offices with lots of light and access to an outside terrace. At the end of the corridor the smaller room would be equipped as student office with a small library attached. On the rear of the building a new annex will be constructed to host a state of the art teaching laboratory.
The second floor is currently smaller than the other floors. According to the licenses for the building Blue World would seek to raise part of the roof making the floor space the same as the first floor, this would provide accommodation for students, interns, volunteers and visiting researchers and teachers. This floor requires immediate attention to ensure that there is no deterioration of the roof which would lead to greater structural problems.
The basement has seven small rooms ; this would be converted into a laboratory, a sample storage area and utilities room. It will be fully ventilated and designed with state of the art laboratory equipment to ensure the integrity of the samples stored within.
To open the cistern of this building is of major importance. The area would be converted into a turtle rescue facility. The facility will have an external entrance opened near the entrance to the property. It will house injured sea life, predominantly protected turtles and allow visitor access to help promote nature protection and the values of Lošinj Island. Close proximity to the harbour of Mali Lošinj will allow for the creation of a circulatory water system pumping fresh seawater in and out of the turtle rehabilitation tanks.
