Many marine and coastal habitats are under pressure from human impacts and increasing use of this zone requires the development of integrated policies for environmental protection. Increasingly researchers and conservationists are seeking to use inter-disciplinary studies towards conservation through an Ecosystem Based Management approach.
Since 2001 Blue World has sought to integrate biological, social and economic research to provide rounded comprehensive analysis of environmental problems to ensure appropriate conservation measures are defined and implemented to protect endangered species, ecosystems and the local communities that utilise them.
