Shot Dolphin

This bottlenose dolphin was struck by a harpoon in the back right section of the body slightly in front of dorsal fin. The harpoon entered the body from above the ribs and caused internal injuries that led to death. The dolphin did not die immediately but was reported to be alive and stranded on the shore when it was first seen.

Given the site of injury and the angle of entry, it can be concluded that the dolphin was shot from close range while he was under or near the bow of a boat.

This dead dolphin has clear markings on the dorsal fin, and we will try to further analysis of photographs to determine whether this is from the catalogue of known dolphins from blue world.

More information will posted on the website when we get it.
