At the Croatian island of Lošinj, at the beginning of February, within the implementation of the Interreg IPA Adrion SAMESEA project, as part of the Activity of the WP2 Organization of a mutual Learning Transnational event on Maritime Spatial Planning Framework project, PP2 Blue World Institute has organized a 3-day workshop on Marxan decision-making tool for maritime spatial planning. The workshop was designed and led by international expert Jennifer McGowan, PhD, managing director at Marxan Conservation Solutions from USA.

Maritime spatial planning processes play essential role in applied conservation efforts. Therefore, this opportunity for capacity building of project partners representing organizations from seven countries from EUSAIR region was very valuable. The workshop was organized in hybrid mode for all project partners and their associated partners. In total,  18 participants in person and additional 8 online who attended the workshop have shown significant interest in this topic while working on the Galapagos training showcase.

This activity will be followed by Deliverable D.2.2.1 Maritime Spatial Planning toolbox.

This activity is part of the SAMESEA project, funded through the Interreg IPA Adrion cross-border cooperation program and co-financed by the Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Republic of Croatia.
