The Blue World Institute invites you to take part in the conservation of the marine environment of the Adriatic Sea and around the Mediterranean. We have been successful for some thirty years in contributing to research, expanding public awareness, and protecting marine coasts and habitats, but as a relatively small non-profit organisation, we need your help in doing so.
Here are some of the different ways in which you can get involved:
Adopt a dolphin
The adopt a dolphin programme allows you to directly support the education programme of the Blue World Institute; in return adopters receive an adoption package with information about the dolphins they chose, become a member of the Blue World Institute’s network and get free access to the Losinj Marine Education Centre in Veli Lošinj.
You can also donate directly to us using the donation page, but adoption is more fun.

Volunteer with us
You can also register yourself on our volunteer page and we will approach you for other activities, for example, helping in organizing and running the Dolphin Day. If you would like to help out or get involved in any way you think might help us, please let us know, or just come and enjoy the day.

Internship opportunities
If you are a student of biology, veterinary science, or similar discipline, a limited number of internships are available every year for an exceptional field experience that will undoubtedly shape your perspective on the marine conservation.

Citizen science
Have you been out on the sea and have noted something of significance? If you have seen a dolphin, some other unusual marine species, or something else of concern for the wellbeing of the marine environment, please take a look at our citizen science page and let us know. You can use a form or download an application to report your sighting to us.
