Despite unfavorable weather conditions, on May 22nd, 2021., on the island of Lošinj, a coastal cleanup action was held in the bay of Artatore, while due to the strong wind, the seabed was cleaned a little further, on the islet of Koludarac. We organized the cleanup activity in cooperation with the Center for healthy growing up ‘Idem i ja’, the local board of Artatore, the diving center SUB SEASON, and sport fishing club ‘Udica’. A total of 52 volunteers took part in the action, including 13 divers. In this way, we marked the International Day for Biological Diversity and joined the international action Clean Up the Med. During the implementation of the action, data on the types and quantities of waste were collected using the data forms of the Trash Free Seas program of the American organization Ocean Conservancy, and we presented and promoted the Clean Swell application for mobile phones.
