On Wednesday, July 1st, we celebrated our traditional Dolphin Day, the 28th in a row! This time, in a somewhat more modest edition, due to the uncertain situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, we organized a series of activities for visitors of different ages at the Lošinj Marine Education Centre. In the morning we held a workshop with a quiz for preschool children, while in the afternoon, the participants in the quiz for children divided into two categories – ages 8-10 and 10-12 – showed their knowledge about dolphins. Although to a lesser extent, children and competitive excitement were not lacking. A total of about fifty children participated in the activities. In the evening, we held a lecture on marine mammals in the Adriatic and we were really excited that the employees of the Public Institution for Nature Protection of Međimurje County – Međimurje Nature visited us on this occasion.
We have also presented activities of our new project, LIFE Delfi that aims at lowering fisheries interaction with dolphins enabling dolphins to avoid injuries and entanglements while also keeping the fisheries activities.

The Blue World Institute´s team would like to thank everyone who participated in the 28th Dolphin Day and thus enabled this beautiful tradition to continue despite the extraordinary circumstances.
