The program of 23rd Dolphin day started in the morning in front of Lošinj marine education centre in Veli Lošinj. Around 20 children participated in various art and educational workshops. Of all, the most exciting event was little scientific laboratory.
The afternoon began with sports competition in Rovenska Bay in Veli Lošinj where more than 100 children participated in a swimming competition.
The evening started with the art workshops for the youngest Dolphin Day visitors in front of the Lošinj Marine Education Centre in Veli Lošinj. At the same time, around 50 school-age children organized in 7 teams started “The Treasure Hunt”. The competing teams had 8 different tasks –dolphin puzzle, identification of dolphins by dorsal fin photos, recognizing fish species and echolocation labyrinth, where the task was for the children to have a glimpse inside of how do dolphins use sound for their orientation. Besides solving all the tasks participants also had to look for hidden clues, which were all in riddles. The winner was “Popaj” team.
In the evening, the winners of all competitions were announced, including the most interesting photo from photo-contest “Sense the Sea” The winning photo was from Montenegro made by Zoran Nikolić., the second place went to Ankica Cvek, Pula and the third to Veronica Chladori , Czech Republic . After the announcement of winners and the giving of awards for all the participants, lecture on dolphins in front of the Centre was held.
