On 19. July 2013. Croatia’s President Ivo Josipović has opened lošinj Sea turtle rescue centre. Predsident has been joined by the advisor to the Minister of tourism Mr Ivo Bašić, Mayor of Mali Lošinj Mr Gari Cappelli, director of Tourist board of Mali Lošinj Mrs Đurđica Šimičić, president of the Management board of Jadranka group Mr Sanjin Šolić, director of State institute for nature conservation dr. Matija Franković and other colaborators, partners and friends of the Blue World Institute.

The Centre has received its first “user” a day before the opening, a loggerhead turtle named Sansego. Sansego had some diving problems. It has been checked by dr. Dubravko Devčić, our local veterinarian, and should be released back to the sea shortly.
