We are proud and happy that we were awarded the prestigious YELLOW FRAME award for sustainable development, science, and education in the Underwater Life category!

In 2021, the YELLOW FRAME is awarded for the third time in 17 categories of sustainable development, as defined by the United Nations.

Recently, National Geographic Croatia magazine has invited readers to nominate their candidates – an individual, team, company, institution, NGO, or association – whose achievements best reflect, promote and support sustainable development. The YELLOW FRAME winner in each category for 2021 was chosen by an expert jury. According to Mr. sc. Robert Kakarigi, the expert for sustainable development and ecotechnology: “It was not always easy for the expert jury consisting of Hrvoje Prćić, Marija Vizner and myself to decide the winner of a particular category, because we would like to award everyone who deserved the nomination.”

Our colleagues Maša Frleta-Valić and Gorjan Agačević received the award on Wednesday, December 15, at a gala event at the hotel Hilton Garden Inn in Zagreb. Colleague Maša, marine biologist and researcher, pointed out that this recognition encourages and motivates us to continue our work as it is a recognition for our contribution to the conservation of marine environment during more than 20 years of work.

We are grateful to everyone who nominated us and to the expert jury for the award. We would also like to thank our members, volunteers, donors and partners who have been with us for many years and support our work.
